Final Day in 07' at Yamaha

It was pretty slow today at the office as most of our customers are shut down for the Holidays so I got my clean on all over my desk...

I usually keep a pretty tidy area but there was entire too many folders that were dated that needed to get the boot and when I went through my desk drawers I found three staple removers. Really??? Three!!! I don't think I used one the entire year. Plus, I'm a total pen hound and I weeded through about 100 pens that I really didn't use. Then I went deep into the ol' supply closet and found a drawer organizer. Oh my gosh was I stoked on life...Doesn't take much.

Two trash bags later things were looking pretty darn good. I can't tell you how fired up I am to go into work on Wed. to kick off 08' with a bang...

So for anyone that ever wondered where I go to earn my paycheck, check it out. That's right, I'm the only person with a cubicle and a view. I feel kind of special...

Staples could probably use this in their next catalog it's so beautiful...This will most likely be a disaster in about a week...

What did you do today????

My Friend Curt

Let's turn the clock back to July of 2005...

I headed into a thing called GroupLink at Buckhead Church where I was getting into a "small group" with 6 to 8 other dudes...Well, I did and right now there's one on a plane headed down to La Paz, Bolivia as a long term missionary serving God with a passion that I've never experienced first hand.

My buddy Curt is one of the most amazing dudes I've ever met and I feel so blessed that God put him into my life for the past couple of years. I can't say enough great things about the guy and he doesn't want any credit for anything. His faith absolutely dwarfs mine and is a constant inspiration.

Here's what he says about what his next few years is all about...

"I went on a short-term mission trip to Bolivia in the summer of 2006 and God called me there long-term. I currently live in La Paz and I am serving the marginalized children in the city - the orphans, the abused kids, the abandoned kids, the kids who live in the sewers, the kids who nobody wants because they have AIDS and the kids who have no model of Christ in their lives."

Check out his blog here for updates...

His last post while waiting for his plane knocked me down..."Whatever you are doing right now, please just stop and count your blessings. If you live in the United States you have been blessed beyond imagination. We are not just blessed when things go well. We are blessed. Period. It’s what we decide to do with our blessing that counts."

Thanks Curt for teaching me so much...More than you'll ever know...

Aqua Please...

As some of you may have heard, Atlanta is in what one would call a drought. No more watering lawns or taking showers...Ok, we can still take showers but they have to be short. Well anyways, I didn't have any lunch plans yesterday so I drove out to Lake Allatoona to see what it looked like and I got major bummed. It's a mud pond...And it sucks...

And let me tell ya, I'm in the business of selling things that propel boats on bodies of water and this doesn't help business...

Probably won't be too much swimming and fishing from this dock for awhile...

Christmas Movies

It's now 1:17am and still can't sleep. Fortunately National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is on. Brother-in-Law Eddie (Randy Quaid) just got into town. I think everyone needs in-laws like him...

So you tell me, what's your favorite Christmas movie?

Trees

It's 1am and I can't sleep, didn't feel like reading so I figured I post a few pics I took awhile ago of some fall goodness. They don't look like this anymore...

Old and Poor?

So a couple of weeks ago I took one of the little dudes from UpStreet out for a fun little day in the ATL. We had a great day consisting of breakfast, bowling and video games. Well, it was getting a tad warm so he wanted to roll down the window and he had this confused look on his face because he couldn't find a button to make it go down. He finally asked what the scoop was and I had to show him that you have to manually roll down the windows in the DX. He thought it was the coolest thing ever that he had to do it that way. Then, the next day in UpStreet that's all he could talk about. Not the The Flying Biscuit, not bowling and not video games at Andretti's. It was all about the roll down window...Wow, should I feel old or poor?

My New Pal Steve

In my post here, I shout out to Mr. Jobs to hook me up because of my lameness and my new found love of all things Apple. Just to reiterate, the IPhone is sick and I want one. Well, last Wednesday as I was minding my own business doing my deal at work, I receive a box from AI. Huh? I think to myself. I recognize the box as being from Apple and get kind of excited inside and somewhat confused because I know I haven’t ordered anything from them…

So I open up the box, tear through some bubble wrap and see a micro envelop addressed to yours truly. My heart begins to thump…I open the envelop and pull out a little note…What does it say you ask?

Boom, bang, sha-zaam, holy I-Phone….WHAT!!!! Steve Jobs reads my lame blog and sends me an IPhone. At this point, I’m in a cold sweat, totally disregarded anything I was doing and did cartwheels around the office bragging about how Steve and me were bros and I was going to spend Christmas with him and his family…Ok, some extrageration here but I was pretty stoked…

Now, I could end here and you all would think that Steve and me drink Lattes together whenever he’s in Atlanta but I don’t want to make people jealous...

Later in the day, I found out that ol' Pops was the one behind all of this. Pretty good stuff...I also learned that my work doesn't support the I-Phone so they wouldn't pay for it...Streams of tears rolled down my face as I realized I would have to give it back. Boo bears to me...

So I took it back to the Apple Store and exchanged it for the phoneless IPod Touch. I'm pretty stoked on it although I would love to have the IPhone...
I'm still Dancin' on the Ceilin'
